Musical Meanderings

Walking around charming Chester I’ve been enjoying the eclectic selection on my iPod. Despite it being set to shuffle it has been intent on playing every other song by the same artist: Patch William.

Sadly this group has come to a premature end. Despite having so much going for them (they were nominated for an Ivor Novello award in 2010 up against such acts as Lily Allen) they have since parted ways and moved on to separate projects.

Regardless of having split up their compositions are as compelling as ever and I feel it would be a travesty not to share their music with a potentially new audience.

My current favourite songs by the band are Take Me Home to Marylebone and Skinny White Boy (which, incidentally, was used in a Burberry commercial).

I’ve added links to the songs – please go and check them out! Hope you enjoy them… (Stephen Fry was a  massive fan early on even tweeted,
“Might Patch William be the next big thing? They seem
rather wonderful to me”

  1. Exactly my type of music. Shame they split up. Can you still buy there music?

    • Hey Scott, thanks for your comment! Glad you like them too 🙂 I bought only a month ago some more songs of theirs from the iTunes store. Not sure where else you can get their music from, but that’s a definite. You could check their website in case it has any further information though.
